The Kumamoto City Museum opened in 1952 and features a wide range of exhibits. The Museum is based on four concepts: information covering a wide area, access for the general public, foundation in the local community, and focus on people. The Museum houses numerous exhibits that introduce the Kumamoto region from both natural and cultural perspectives. Visitors can also visit our planetarium, with programs on stars and astronomy, as well as our workshops and laboratories where they can participate in a variety of activities.
